When getting a haircut , I can't help feel nervous that the barber may inadvertently cut my ear . Is this at all possible ? Has it at all ever happened ? Please help !

Dear Concerned Individual .
A lot of people , particularly those of a certain age ( children ) imagine when going for a trim ( or haircut ) be it at the local barber ( or hairstylist ) that this ( let's call it a scenario ) is a real and horrifying possibility . That is - that the ear ( or ears ) could actually be cut ( off ).
Allow me to reassure you - It's not at all likely , infact it's probably never happened . Ever.....! At least not since the time of Plato .
And remember , your hairstylist (or barber) is a highly trained professional who would never want to hurt you ,you're too lovely . However , lovely as you are , also keep in mind that you can help your barber ( or hairstylist ) by sitting perfectly still at all times , thus ensuring a flattering result you'll both be thrilled at !
There....feel better ? Good . Now off you go get that haircut !
